PRIVATE BAGPIPE LESSONS
A great teacher never strives to explain his vision -- he simply invites you to stand beside him and see for yourself. -- The Rev. R. Inman
Learning a musical instrument is perhaps one of the most rewarding endeavors one can undertake. The student of music will spend his entire life striving for perfection he may never attain, but the point of the journey is not to arrive, but to experience.
It is Ryan's belief that Music is the highest of all arts. Music gives one's life meaning and depth and adds depth and dimension to the world. It is without a doubt the perfect medium for full and complete expression of oneself. Nothing compares to the joy that Ryan experiences in being a piper, and his sole aim is to offer that same feeling of complete elation to each and every student.
After well over a decade of experience teaching bagpipe lessons, Ryan has attained a very intimate understanding of the music of the pipes, the instrument itself, and of the process of learning. With masterful delivery, Ryan passes on the traditions of piping to new generations of pipers, enriching the local Celtic community and breathing a new life into a vibrant yet esoteric art. Piping is Ryan's life, and it is his wish to pass on this great gift to all with a genuine interest in learning. Whether your interest is in the Great Highland Bagpipes, the Irish Warpipes, or the Bellows-Blown Smallpipes, Ryan has the competence, the vision, and the savvy to help you realize your goal.

As a close personal friend and student of Ryan, I have experienced first hand his dedication to teaching and performing. Ryan is passionate to see each of his students succeed and provides them with the knowledge, mentorship, and personal attention to make that happen. As a friend and instructor he inspires me, and as a performer he leaves me in awe. It should be said that his professionalism is only surpassed by his talents as a piper and instructor.

Ryan has been a dedicated instructor and mentor of mine for many years. He has always been a helpful and encouraging friend to both me and other bagpipers regardless of their level. When a student has the desire to learn, Ryan will constantly adapt and modify the lesson to provide the most beneficial instruction for that student. As a performer and pipe major, Ryan’s attention to detail and "feel" for the music is simply amazing. He is always willing to take that extra step to improve his teaching methods and the quality of his own performance. Ryan takes a genuine interest in the improvement of his students.

You are a great teacher because you instill confidence and pride in your students. You believe in them and you show it. In the short amount of time that we spent together yesterday, you helped in a tremendous way. Thank You.

First of all you are very kind and a good friend, now for your way of teaching I found that you are a very good teacher because you give to everyone the advice he needs, and your advice is not just a normal advice but it's a rich one, and now the way you helped me is that when I play I now feel more confidence because you led me to the true way of playing. To be frank with you, I never thought that I would cope with your teaching through the Internet as if it is real. I like the way you inform me with the advice needed to be better in my piping. I assure you that I've made a great progress, and if I continue in the same way you may rest assured that I'm going to excel.
