Here is the best praise I ever received. It was the last communication from my first pipe teacher before succumbing to cancer. Love you Doc. Thank you for believing in me. God rest you.

Thanks so much for writing. By the way, you really made my day when you came up to the hospital. You mean a lot to me Ryan. I'm very proud of you. Don't worry about your solo ... you'll do fine. Re Pumpkin's Fancy ... you wouldn't have had to learn it to impress me. I've always thought that you were capable of things far above that tune, and everything you did impressed me. Teaching you was a joy most people only dream of ... I lived it.

-- Dr. John Richardson

Your presentations were the hit of the night last night. Thanks so much for not only being willing to play for us, but for serving with such excellence. Your passion for what you do is so evident, and your ability to relate to children is quite impressive!

-- Tracy Hanrahan, Children's Choir Coordinator, Dawson Memorial Baptist Church

Just wanted to let you know that we were very pleased with your playing at the wedding on Saturday. I didn’t have a chance to speak to you at the time, but you did a first rate job. Thank you so much.

-- Kathryn Mcdonald

You did a great job! Everyone was so impressed with your talents. You were in all the papers the next day.

-- Carla Swinney, Student Affairs, Calhoun Community College

I just wanted to write and say thank you so much for the beautiful music you played at my father's graveside. It was my father's wish to have the bagpipes at his funeral. He would have loved the send off you gave him. In fact, he was probably looking down from above and singing along with you. Thank you for the wonderful blessing you gave to me and my family.

-- Dixie D. Cross

Thank you again for playing for our wedding! John loved following behind as you led the processional and will never forget it! You were awesome and everything I imagined it would be! Thanks again!

-- Robin and John Roberts

I know I've thanked you already in email, but I really wanted to let you know how important this music is - the song, the pipes, and the homage to my family's heritage that really makes my heart so proud. You've got a great reputation, and I'm so glad to have you and your art and expression be a part of one of the most important days of my life.

-- Elizabeth Franklin

Ryan, we could not have asked for a more delightful wedding parade through the streets of downtown Birmingham. Thanks again for leading our procession to the reception space - all the guests waiting on the rooftop said they'll never forget watching - and hearing - us approach the building. Alan and I were so pleased with your professionalism, your talent, and your spirit of theatrical adventure - you said you'd play even if the pouring rain didn't clear, and even though it did, I believe you would have. I can't wait to work together on MUSE OF FIRE. You're a true gem.

-- Elizabeth and Alan Hunter

I just wanted to sincerely thank you for participating in Dad's funeral today. Your talent and professionalism were greatly noticed and appreciated by all. You added the perfect touch to the service and I just know Dad's spirit was there with us and he was made very happy. My family and I were deeply moved emotionally -- especially with the effect of your walking off into the distance as you played the second verse of Amazing Grace. So again, thank you so very much for being there.

-- Michael Bishop

My name is Sherry Morrison and I am the proud wife of the Birmingham Bagpiper. Though this may not be an impartial review, I can say for sure that my husband is a serious professional when it comes to piping. It was his dream since we met over a decade ago to become a career ceremonial bagpiper, and it was me that encouraged him to do this. He has the skill, the drive, and the talent that it takes to do what he does. He is so good at his job in fact that he is the ONLY one in the state that can do what he does and make a living! He is ALWAYS on time, often early, dependable, and a talented musician. He always looks good in his uniform, and his playing will always move you. This is what you will remember most. Don't take a chance with any others. Hire a real Piper that you can trust to make your occasion special.

-- Sherry Morrison

You did a beautiful job as always. How do you top "perfect"?

-- Joanne McGlown

We sincerely appreciate all that you have done for us, especially at the last moment. This is something that is so very special to all of the family, my mother most of all ... the beautiful sound of the bagpipes.

-- Dr. Rhonda Cornell

I just wanted to tell you how much I like the song you've written for the wedding. It's perfect! I love the playfulness of it-it's just a happy song. I can't wait to walk down the aisle to your piping. ... Thank you for allowing us to name the song and for writing something so special for us. I truly love it.

-- Liz Rhoades Carlson

My wife and I wanted Ryan to play the pipes at our wedding. He not only agreed to do this but offered to write an original piece for the occasion. We gladly accepted and were delighted with the inspiring result. Ryan playing this beautiful piece of music really added an unforgetable element to our wedding day. He is a creative and talented musician and I would recommend him to anyone.

-- Ryan Carlson

Great to meet and hear such an amazing piper!

-- Sir Jeremy Bell, Knight of Toasting

Ryan Morrision's passion for the pipes is clear to the ear. His involvement and commitment to Alabama's larger Celtic community emphasizes his dedication to his art. As both a performer and composer, Ryan's piping talents continue bring new fans and students to the bagpipes. Ryan Morrison is one of Alabama's very best ambassadors of the Celtic arts.

-- Paige Gardner Smith, Board Member, Alabama Celtic Assocation and Editor, Celtic Alabama News

Thank you for playing at daddy's memorial. It was absolutely beautiful, and daddy would have loved it.

-- Stacey Spivey

Thanks so much for your professional services and your friendship.

-- Paul Andrews

I have known Ryan Morrison for a number of years. It was my honor and privilege to be one of his initial tutor instructors, passing on to him what was given to me by Pipe Major Ian Sturrock. Ryan was a particularly quick learner, progressing the fastest of any student I have ever taught. His grasp of the fundamentals of piping were quick and accurate, and his ability to transfer that to the Great Highland Bagpipes was quite rewarding to me as an instructor. We became friends during this time, and this friendship has grown to include mutual respect for each other as well. As time has passed, Ryan's ability has improved wonderfully. He has won many piping awards in competitive competitions. Ryan took over the leadership of the Heritage Pipes and Drums shortly after I stood down as the Pipe Major. During this time, Ryan has led the band to win two band competitions, and I've no doubt that, under his leadership as Pipe Major, the band will soon be hitting new heights of excellence.

Ryan is not only a wonderful player of traditional music of the Great Highland Bagpipes; he also experiments with the sounds produced by the pipes. His performances bring out every nuance of sound possibilities. And most important, Ryan has managed to go beyond just playing the pipes. When he plays, his sensitivity to the music is exhilarating, and the sounds emanating from his pipes go deeper. He is one of those rare performers who can attach his soul to his playing, and in any field of music, it just doesn't get any better than that.

-- Charles Smith, Pipe Major Emeritus Heritage Pipes & Drums

We had Ryan Morrison play our Tuttle and Kline Kegs and Eggs Event on St. Patrick's Day.  Ryan gave our show that morning a feeling of authenticity in a professional and talented manner.  He can flat out play!  I highly recommend Ryan Morrison the next time you're in need of a professional bagpiper.

-- Kevin Kline, Co-host The Tuttle and Kline Show
